Call us biased but when it comes to planning a fairytale, we don’t think you’ll find a more idyllic wedding venue than Hensol Castle in the Vale of Glamorgan. Our 400-year-old Grade I-listed castle is the stuff of childhood dreams.
Its majestic turrets, grand staircases and 15-acre serpentine lake provide the perfect backdrop for breath-taking photographs and set the tone for a magical celebration. Hensol Castle is a luxury wedding venue steeped in history - we can trace its first owner to famous lawyer Judge David Jenkins in 1664 – but there’s nothing old-fashioned or fussy about it. We’ve spent millions lovingly restoring the castle to its former glory and it shows. Make your entrance on the red carpet before exchanging vows in the oak room, overlooking the lake.
Afterwards, you can catch up with your guests in the reception hall, drawing room or morning room - you decide. With the formalities over, our courtyard hall is the perfect place to kick off your Choos and party, surrounded by all the people who mean the most to you in the world. Expect a feast fit for a king or queen and a dance floor big enough to throw your bouquet, as well as some serious shapes. Later, you can hot-foot it to the jetty to watch the sun set on your special day.
If you marry at Hensol Castle then be prepared to be royally spoiled. Our castle is yours for the duration of your stay, so make yourselves at home. You’ll have exclusive use of its rooms as well as its vast grounds, which make the ideal playground for lawn games.
Your loved ones can take a momentary break from the celebrations to sink into our soft leather arm chairs. Great weather is best enjoyed in our landscaped courtyard, champagne firmly in hand.
