Planning an autumn Wedding at Hensol Castle

Category - Weddings
Published on - 28 August 2018

As the leaves turn golden and the days get cooler, we look at why autumn is the perfect season to wed and why Hensol Castle could be the ideal venue for you.

Hensol Castle is surrounded by 650 acres of beautiful Welsh countryside and on an autumn afternoon there is no where quite like it. A big part of your wedding day is your photography and when the autumn leaves are settled and when the sun is setting over our castle, we can assure you your photos will be picture perfect.

You will say ‘I Do’ in our opulent Oak Room, where you’ll overlook our 15 acre lake and have the perfect view of falling leaves and beautiful bright skies. One of our favourite features of the Oak Room is the grand windows that surround it. On sunny autumn days, light will flood through the windows to fill the room which can create some amazing photo opportunities.

As well as the venue, you have many exciting decisions to make when planning your wedding, so we’ve compiled a list of our favourite autumn wedding ideas for you.

Bright and colourful flowers are a must, whether you are looking for rustic or romantic there are plenty of options for you to choose from. Our favourite autumn combinations are rich reds, burnt orange and peach tones and whether this is for your bouquet or your centrepieces, we think this is a really easy way to set the scene.

Wedding favours are a good way to add a personal touch to your day and handmade toffee apples are a great seasonal treat for guests to enjoy during the day. You could also fill jars with popping corn which they can later use to make popcorn; this is a lovely way for the guests to take a part of your day home with them.

Once your special day comes to an end, you will head back to the stunning Bridal Suite where you can enjoy a morning on the balcony with panoramic views of beautiful Welsh countryside.
