It’s the news we have all been waiting for – our gym and pool can re-open on August 10th!

Yes, this is a pretty big document but we want all members to be aware of the unprecedented and additional cleaning, sanitising and safety measures we have undertaken to ensure the wellbeing and safety of both our club members and our staff when we re-open. Please read this update thoroughly.

AUGUST SUBSCRIPTION

Your August subscription payment will be processed once the Club has re-opened week commencing 10th August.   Your payment will be reduced to compensate you for the days the club was closed in both March and August. September payments will then go back to normal at the beginning of the month. For membership subscription questions or queries, please email us at [email protected] and we will respond as quickly as possible.

KEEPING EVERYONE SAFE!

Deep cleaning and continuous sanitising will be evident throughout the day and we ask all members to be considerate of others and sanitise and wipe down your machine or equipment after use. If you feel unwell or think you have any of the common Covid 19 symptoms please stay away as access will be refused.  Upon entering the club, everyone will be required to have a temperature check, entry will be refused to anyone with a temperature above 38 degrees Celsius.

- Social distancing signage and a one way system will need to be observed.

- There are an increased number of hand sanitisers throughout the club for your use.

- There is a self swipe system on entry, only you will hold your membership card

GYM

We have systems in place to manage social distancing and have enough equipment and space to allow members to work out safely whilst observing social distancing guidelines.

If we see a surge in numbers using the gym, then to protect members, guests and our colleagues, we have a booking system ready that can be quickly implemented.

When using the gym, please follow the one way system we have in place, use the hand sanitisers placed around the club, and wipe down any equipment you use (before and after) using the blue roll and antibacterial products provided.

Gym (sweat) towels will not be allowed in the gym or studios as per government guidelines, so please leave these at home and use the blue roll provided in the gym. Water fountains may only be used to refill bottles, so please bring one with you.

SWIMMING POOL

We appreciate that people use the swimming pool for different reasons. Some people train in the lanes, others prefer a more recreational visit.

For this reason, we have created Lane Swimming (which must be booked in advance)  so that the remainder of the pool may be used for more recreational purposes and leisurely swimming. Please see below for details on how to book the lane. If you do not wish to use a lane, then you do not need to book.

Our normal swimming times are as follows:

Mon – Fri – 06.00 – 09.00 Adult Only, 09.00 – 20.00 All ages, 20.00 – 22.00 Adult only

Sat, Sun, Bank Holidays & School Holidays – 07.30 – 09.00 Adult Only, 09.00 -20.00, All ages,  20.00 – 21.30 Adult Only

HOW DOES LANE SWIMMING WORK?

Our lane allows a maximum of 4 swimmers for a 30 minute bookable slot.  Please follow the signage on poolside which indicates which direction to swim in and leave at least 5 metres between you and the person in front of you. If you book Lane Swimming, then you must only use the lane.

For all pool usage, please maintain a safe distance from other pool users at all times. Supervision and ratio guidelines have not changed (i.e. an adult must be in the water with any child aged 13 or under).  Any children aged 5 or under must be supervised 1-1 by an adult.

Please be aware that numbers in changing rooms are limited so you may be asked to wait before entering. The more preparation you can do at home, the better!

JACUZZI, SAUNA AND STEAM ROOM

Our Jacuzzi will be operational with limited capacity. Please note that for social distancing purposes, it can only take a maximum of 2 people (or more from one household / bubble). Normal age restrictions apply. Until government guidelines change, our sauna and steam room will remain closed.

CHANGING ROOMS & TOILET FACILITIES

Locker numbers will be limited so we kindly ask you to travel as lightly as possible and only use the changing rooms if absolutely necessary.  We will have a limited number of toilets and showers available. Toilets, showers and lockers will be cleaned on a rotational basis throughout the day.

CLASSES

In order to adhere to government and social distancing guidelines (as well as listening to your feedback), we are moving some classes outdoors to the marquee where we have unlimited fresh air and more space. Weather permitting; we can also make use of the tennis courts for classes.  This will allow for greater numbers in a bigger space.  If we are able to move a class outside, we will increase the capacity, therefore, if a class is full, we recommend you join the waiting list and keep your notifications on as more spaces could be added closer to the start of the class.

The timetable for week commencing 10th August will be available to book from Thursday August 6th

Our Spin / RPM classes will take place in Studio 1.  Our Holistic classes will continue to take place in Studio 2 with limited capacities.

Please consider your fellow members and only book if you intend to turn up or call to cancel if you are unable to make your class.

We will also need to reduce the timings of some classes to stop overcrowding of people arriving and leaving and to allow us time to clean equipment between classes.

Regrettably we cannot run every single class immediately due to social distancing guidelines and restrictions to changing room facilities.

Please see either the MyWellness App, our website https://www.valeresort.com/health-club/ or Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ValeHealthClubMembers/ for our revised timetable.

This will be available from Thursday 6th August.

All classes must be booked via the MyWellness app, or by telephoning Leisure Reception on 01443 665800.

Please be prepared for class changes which are out of our control. If, for example, an instructor becomes ill or needs to self isolate suddenly, we may not be able to get an exact cover. We will endeavour to run a class but it may not be as advertised.

HOW TO BOOK CLASSES AND LANE SWIMMING

The best way to book is via the MyWellness App (this is the app that is used already to log onto the gym equipment and to book classes.f you do not already have the MyWellness app, visit the App Store or Google Play. It will look like this. Otherwise, please call 01443 665800

The booking system will open at 06.00 every day and bookings may be made up to 7 days

You will then be given the option to book.

If an activity is full, you will be able to add yourself on the wait list. Please note that this DOES NOT work on a priority system. We strongly advise you to have your notifications switched on your phone. If a space becomes available, everybody on the waiting list will receive a notification that a space is available and the first person to book it will have the space.

CHILDREN’S CLASSES AND SWIMMING LESSONS

We will be running a limited number of children’s classes (with reduced capacities where necessary) week beginning 17th August. Please check our Facebook page for updates on this. Please also check our Facebook page for more information on children’s swimming lessons which we hope to restart in September as usual.

https://www.facebook.com/ValeHealthClubMembers/

For the month of August all members can enjoy up to 50% off food and non alcoholic drinks throughout the resort up to a maximum of £10.  Please note your membership discount will not apply on top of  this offer.

Finally, we know that these are challenging times and that things will be different to how they were. We would love things to get back to normal but need to work within government guidelines and make the operation as safe and smooth as possible whilst keeping you happy.

If you are asked to wait before entering an area, please be mindful that it is for everyone’s safety. Please show consideration to staff that are doing their best to keep everyone safe, happy and fit. If you are asked to wait to use a facility, and when leaving your class or the Club, we would kindly request that you adhere to the social distancing guidelines. Group gatherings are actively discouraged.

If everybody sticks to the above, we are confident we can continue to run a safe, healthy and successful environment.

As we now live in an ever-changing society, we may need to make changes to the operation with little notice. We will communicate any changes on our Members Facebook page so please keep an eye on this.
